Here are some tips to make the most of your natural skin care products .
Honey
Honey is a versatile golden liquid. First, it is a natural sweetener and soothes your throat. Second, it makes a powerful mask.
Honey is naturally antibacterial and anti-inflammatory making it suitable for treating acne and break outs. It’s also full of antioxidants and suitable for antiaging. It has a moisturising and soothing effect, which favours sensitive skin.
Honey treatments are best applied if the following steps are taken: 1. Dampen your facial skin slightly and apply a thin layer of honey in a circular motion using a cloth. 2. Leave the applied honey on your face for 20 minutes then gently rinse it off with warm water.
Rice flour
Rice flour is another ancient natural beauty aid. It has been used for centuries especially in Asian countries for clearing and whitening the skin. Rice flour is rich in vitamin B which grows new cells and slows down ageing process. It is great for anti-aging, blemishes, acne and pigmentation. It also protects the skin from the damaging effects of the sun.
You can use rice flour for exfoliating your face and body. Make sure the rice flour is fine enough to use on your skin. It is fit for use only when it is soft and powdery. Soft and powdery rice flour is safe to use because it doesn’t damage the top layer of your skin when smeared on to it.
Rice flour can be used on its own on damp facial skin or the body for exfoliation. If you want to achieve a more glowing look and nourishing results, you can mix the rice flour with honey or coconut oil.
These ingredients are available in supermarkets and easy to find. However, I would recommend organic ingredients because they are undamaged by chemicals.
